John Cleary, Race Director for the event commented “2020 has been a very difficult time for everyone. At a time when the resources of charities have been in more demand than ever before, the traditional fundraising channels for many of these charities have been removed. We are delighted to be able to stage this years event using the virtual model, where charities will benefit in a very real way.”
2020 marks Cook Medical’s fifth consecutive year as title sponsor of the Women’s Mini Marathon, a sponsorship that has been extended until 2023.
“We are excited to launch the first ever virtual format of the race this year. It was very important to us to put that extra emphasis on charities who need our support this year more than ever,” said Angela Moloney, director of Ethics & Compliance, EMEA, at Cook Medical. “We’re proud to be part of such a long-standing event that celebrates the women of Limerick and encourages people to improve their health and fitness. Given the difficult time we have all been through in the past months, this is a positive focus for the people of Limerick.”
